Pitti Uomo is about to begin. The biennial men style show takes place in Florence from the 10th to the 13th of January 2017.

The event is hosted at Fortezza da Basso a historical venue in the heart of Florence. Commissioned by Alessandro De Medici the first duke of Florence, the Fortezza was built between 1534 and 1536 and in 1964 was turned into the main exhibition facility of the city.

The Pitti Uomo will take over the entire surface of the venue. More than 80.000 square meters will be dedicated to the new trends in the men fashion industry.

The opening of the 91st edition of the Pitti Uomo will be taking place at Palazzo Pitti where will be inaugurated the photographic exhibition “Fashion in Florence through the lens of Archivio Foto Locchi”. The exhibit consists of more than 100 rare pictures of the Florentine fashion industry.

On the 10th of January Pitti Uomo hosts the presentation of the new collection of the South Korean brand Ordinary People. The young designer Jang Hyeong Cheol brings to Florence his last collection . The same day the Antica Barberia Colla is showcasing its new range of grooming products. The Antica Barberia Colla was founded in 1904 by Dino Colla in Milan. The company will be giving demonstration to the public of its treatments and shaving products.

The Pitti Uomo is a city-wide event which takes over the entire territory. The Ippodromo del Visarno, the historical Florence’s racetrack, will be the main venue for the new Tim Coppens’s collection. The Belgian stilista is the menswear guest designer of the 91st Pitti Uomo.

Just a few hundreds meters from the Ippodromo the Stazione Leopolda, an old train station turned into a a venue for events, will be hosting the collections of Sulvam. The Japanese brand founded by Tappei Fujita in 2014, is the first to be featured in the two-years long agreement between Pitti Uomo and the Japan Fashion Week Organization.

Pitti Uomo is the chance to walk along the Arno river while enjoying the best that the men’s fashion industry has to offer.
