We are the event industry. Here is how the Italian professionals respond to the sector crisis

Among the many industries deeply affected by the economic crisis due to the coronavirus outbreak, the live event sector is probably the last one which will have a chance to recover. Live events mean large gatherings of people and the last thing that we need right now is to see so many people all under one roof. The containment measures adopted so far are working to stop the spread of the virus and there is nothing that the event professionals can do to turn their live events in people-less occasions. Virtual events are for sure an option but the total income generated by these experiences will not be enough to support the meeting industry.

An answer to the crisis

For this reason the Italian community of event professionals have decided to put together their expertise in an effort to respond to this emergency.

Through the network Events Live Industry all of the meeting and events professionals are now aiming at two different objectives:

  1. Clarify to the Italian Government the value of the MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Congresses and Exhibitions) industry.
  2. Aks to the Italian institutions to include in the next decrees aimed at restoring the pre-crisis economy specific measures to help and support the events industry.

Our role

As a blog dealing mostly with tourism topics and the international promotion of the city of Milan, and Italy, we strongly believe in the role of live events, meetings, incentives and exhibtions for the economic development of our territory. For this reason we have decided to join the campaign #italialive and to promote it on our website.

If you wish to do so, just check the website, download the promotional material and share the mission of this new step of the phenomenal Italian event industry.
