In 222 BC the Romans conquered the Celtic settlement and in 286 BC Milan, then called Mediolanum, became the capital of the Western Roman empire under Diocletian. In 313 AD the emperor Constantine the first, through the Edict of Milan guaranteed to the Christians freedom of religion. In 374 AD Ambrosgio became the archbishop of Milan by acclamation. It’s official! The best skyscraper of the world is in Milan. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat  in Chicago has elected the “Bosco Verticale(vertical wood/forest)” as the most beautiful skyscraper built in 2015. Grab a bite at Mercato al Duomo

Maybe it’s the EXPO effect but Milan is now offering plenty of opportunities when it comes to food and food culture. The Fondazione Prada in Milan

The Fondazione Prada has recently opened its doors in Milan. The location chosen to display the large collection of works of art is an old distillery dated 1910 in the outskirts of the city. The renovation of the existing buildings has been committed to the architecture firm OMA lead by the worldwide know architect Rem Koolhaas. The aim of the project was nor a restyling of existing building neither a new architecture project.
