Italy’s Osteria Francescana named best restaurant of the World

Osteria Francescana the Italian restaurant owned and managed by chef Massimo Bottura has just been named the best restaurant of the World.

In a ceremony that took place in the coastal city of Bilbao in Spain 50 chefs from the four corners of the world gathered to assist to the awards ceremony and to see who among them would be crowned as the king (or queen) of food.

The third place was conquered by Mirazur the restaurant in Mentone (France) owned by the Argentinian chef of Italian descent Mauro Colagreco.

On the second step of the podium there is El Celler de Can Roca based in Girona and managed by the three Roca brothers.

The gold medal was assigned to chef Massimo Bottura who, with his restaurant Osteria Francescana, won the title as best restaurant of the word for the second time. It was the winner also in 2016 and got the third place in 2014.
