The antiques market in Milan takes place every last Sunday of each month in the Navigli district.
The hundreds of sellers display their merchandise and items along the Navigli canals from via Gorizia to the bridge of via Valenza.
The nearly 400 exhibitors of the antiques market are carefully selected by the Associazione Naviglio Grande which manages all of the initiatives taking place along the canals.
It is not just about furniture or silverware. In the adjacent streets Corsico and Paoli there are the stands that sell vintage clothing and apparel.
If you are looking for a vintage Prada bag or a fur coat by Fendi make sure to come and visit the market. Shoes, scarves or gowns can also be purchased at the antiques market in the city.
The visit of the market can also be the chance to enjoy the dandy, hipster atmosphere of this side of the city. Plenty of bars and restaurants offer delicious food of the italian cooking tradition.
If you wish to experience something different you can also reserve a table in a Greek or American restaurant like Tizzy’s NY Bar and Grill, one of the best burger joint in town.
Make sure to walk all along the canal to have the opportunity to visit one of the art galleries of this area of Milan. You may also have the chance to meet the artists that are usually working on these busy Sundays.
If the weather allows it, there is also a nice boat tour that departs from the darsena (dock) right there where the antiques market is, and goes all the way down to the countryside of Milan.
No matter what your plans are, if you happen to be in the city during the last Sunday of the month make sure to have your wallet ready because this is a not-to-be-missed shopping experience!
