The voting for the upcoming 95th Academy Awards has officially begun. The ceremony will take place on the under the shadow of the iconic Hollywood sign on the 13th of March. Here is the list of our 2023 Oscar predictions.
Best Actor in a Leading Role
The nominees for this category are:
Austin Butler (“Elvis”)
Colin Farrell (“The Banshees of Inisherin”)
Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”)
Paul Mescal (“Aftersun”)
Bill Nighy (“Living”)
We believe Colin is gonna make it this year. Brendan could be a good option, but Colin’s performance was just awesome!
Best Actress in a Leading Role
The actresses nominated are:
Cate Blanchett (“Tár”)
Ana de Armas (“Blonde”)
Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”)
Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans”)
Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”)
It’s Michelle’s 5th nominations! We strongly believe that she deserve this Oscar! We don’t want her to end up in a sort of Glenn Close’s limbo (she has 8 nominations and no wins…) Cate was surely excellent in her role, but come on she already has two statuettes!
Best Actor in a Supporting Role
The nominations include:
Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”)
Brian Tyree Henry (“Causeway”)
Judd Hirsch (“The Fabelmans”)
Barry Keoghan (“The Banshees of Inisherin”)
Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”)
Brendan is a tremendous actor and his performance in this fine Irish movie is one of his best. Go and get it Brendan!
Best Actress in a Supporting Role
The category includes:
Angela Bassett (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”)
Hong Chau (“The Whale”)
Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”)
Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”)
Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”)
How strong was Angela in the second installment of the Black Panther franchise? Come on! It’s Angela’s time, no doubt!
Best Director
This year made it to the list
Martin McDonagh (“The Banshees of Inisherin”)
Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”)
Steven Spielberg (“The Fabelmans”)
Todd Field (“Tár”)
Ruben Östlund (“Triangle of Sadness”)
This movie was this year’s surprise both in terms of critical consensus and box office! Our 2023 Oscar predictions do bet on this movie which is set to become a cult.
Best Original Screenplay
The writes who have been nominated are
“The Banshees of Inisherin” Written by Martin McDonagh
“Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Written by Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert
“The Fabelmans” Written by Steven Spielberg & Tony Kushner
