Las Vegas city guide

The Milan City Journal has recently spent a few days in the city of Las Vegas. Here below a few tips if you plan to organize a trip to this amazing destination.

What to do

Well this is kind of a good question! Las Vegas is well known to be the capital of gambling and if you happen to be in the city you must sit at least once at the green table. If you are not that much into poker or card games I believe that learning how to spin the roulette won’t be hard. Just sit there and wait for your lucky number to come. If you get tired of winning money the city of Las Vegas offers plenty of entertainment opportunities. The best hotels in town have their own shows open to the public so don’t miss the opportunity to sit in the theatre to listen to some good music. This month Elton John and Britney Spearsare in town. After that enjoy a comedy show of some of the most important stand up artists from Roseanne Barr toBrad Garrett. The entertainment experience continues with the worldwide phenomenon Circ du Soleil which performs with several formats of its acrobatic shows.  The Vegas experience won’t be over till you get to see one of the illusionists performing in town or if you prefer something more ‘exotic’ get the chance to see the most beautiful dancers in the city.

Where to stay

The whole length of the Las Vegas strip is surrounded by some of the most iconic hotels in the whole world. Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, the Venetian, the Mirage, Paris andRio, Treasure Island and Luxor. These are the names of the facilites that we have all seen in the movies. George Clooney and his eleven friends, those guys trying to recover after a bad hangover and many other actors have walked through the lobbies of these majestic buildings. It is not just a matter of choosing where to sleep, a hotel in Vegas means much more than that. It is a lifetime experience able to bring you back to the roman era or to make you walk along the Venice canals. Each hotel has its own casino and poker rooms and above  all a wide range of restaurants offering the best food and drinks.

What to eat

The world meets in Vegas. The many tradeshow and convention facilities bring in town visitors from the five continents. The internationality of Las Vegas is also demonstrated by the hundreds (literally hundreds) of restaurants in town. The best thing to do to try a piece of this and a piece of that is to go for a buffet. Just pick one up, sit at the table to order your drink and than move to the buffet. Each hotel has its own one and they all serve food of all the culinary cultures: italian, mexican, fusion and asian and of course the signature american dishes.  Have a slice of pizza, a sushi roll and french fries. Finish your dinner with a dulce de leche and a gelato and do not forget to have a sip of a chilly prosecco while at the table. This mouth-watering experience continues along the streets where food outlets and fancy restaurants co-exist under the lights of Vegas.

Just a statement: Las Vegas is the shopping destination. It is not a fashion capital but it is for sure the place to go to get some good deals when it comes to shopping. All of the most important fashion brands have at least one store in the city.  Each hotel has its own shopping gallery. Clothes and accessories will teas you in to try them on! And don’t forget to vist one of the two outlet malls. On both sides of the strip (north and south) the Premium Outlets will welcome you in a fancy environment offering special discounts and good deals on clothing and accessories.
