The Art Week in Milan takes place from Monday the 27th of March to Sunday the 2nd of April.

Several venues and museums will be opening their doors for special events dedicated to contemporary art. These are the side events to the main art tradeshow which will be taking place at the Fiera Milano City’s pavillions. The MIART, this is the name of the main contemporary art event,  opens on Thursday the 31st of March under the artistic direction of Alessandro Rabottini.

The selection of the exhibiting art galleries at the MIART includes established global names like: Massimo De Carlo (Milan-London-Hong Kong), Kaufmann Repetto (Milan-New York), Robilant+Voena (London-Milan-St Moritz), Tornabuoni (Florence-London-Milan-Paris) and many others from New York, Paris, Beijing, Brussels, Rio De Janeiro, Rome, Berlin and Los Angeles.

The Art Week continues with the temporary exhibition at the most prestigious venues in the city.

The Palazzo Reale (the Royal Palace) is currently hosting “Keith Haring. About Art“an exhibition of 110 artworks by the disciple of Andy Warhol.

At the same venue “Manet e la Parigi Moderna” (Manet and the modern Paris) a collection that includes works by Manet, Degas, Gaugiun, Monet and Renoir on loan by the  Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

The masterpieces by Kandinskij will be on display at the MUDEC, the Milan’s museum of cultures, up to the 9th of July 2017.

Along with these temporary exhibitions in the city, the Art Week will be also the chance to explore the permanent collections of some of the most important museums of Milan like the GAM (the Modern Art Gallery), the Fondazione Prada (the private collection of the fashion mogul Miuccia Prada) and the Museo del Novecento (the XXth Century Art Museum).
